Heritage & Community
‘Community’ expresses much about the ethos of Ipswich High School.
In one sense, community is the life we offer our pupils, parents and staff: a "campus" for our four schools, a sense of togetherness, a collective responsibility, a shared vision for our girls.
Community is also at the heart of our connection and links with the outside world; with our past pupils, our governing body, the GDST and residents in our local vicinity. In all that we do, we appreciate our role and responsibility within the Community in which we exist.
It is in the heart of this community that Ipswich High School has thrived for over 130 years and in which we have striven to establish ourselves in recent years as one of the Eastern Region's premier independent schools. As a member of the GDST from the outset, we embrace the pioneering enterprise and rich heritage today with as much vigour and pride as the school’s modest beginnings in 1873.
