Nick and Annette Butterworth Book Signing

The Junior School was delighted to welcome children’s authors Nick and Annette Butterworth to a book signing last week. As part of the school’s autumn book fair, the famous writing duo met with children and parents, and enchanted the Nursery, Reception and Infant Classes with stories and drawings from their many children’s books.

Good Schools Guide Award for Excellence

Ipswich High School has won the 2007 Good Schools Guide A level Award for Girls taking Art & Design (Critical Studies) at AS level. The Good Schools Guide makes these awards on the basis of the exam results, and in particular on the basis of the popularity of each subject relative to similar schools, and of the success that pupils achieve relative to the other examinations that they take. Their aim is to highlight excellent teaching in individual subjects.  We are delighted to accept the award on behalf of the pupils and teachers. You can download a copy of the certificate here.

Green Formula for Ipswich High School Girls

Sailing win for Ipswich High Girl

Congratulations to Libby Watkins and her crew Abbie Heathcote on their fantastic sailing results over the summer.  Ipswich High School pupil Libby and her friend Abbie came 6th in the Silver fleet at the RS Feva World Championships at Gottskar in Sweden.  They were the first British and second all girl team in the fleet of 52 boats.   Libby will be sailing in the UK inland championships in October and is setting her sights on the Europeans in August 09.

2008 GCSE Results

Ipswich High School saw ecstatic scenes this morning as pupils, parents and staff celebrated some of their best GCSE results ever, with 78.9% of passes at A* & A Grades.

Pupils, parents and staff are celebrating today after receiving the best ever A Level results in the School's history. 40% of pupils achieved straight A Grades; with an overall pass rate of 100%.

Ipswich High School for Girls receives new minibus

We were delighted to take delivery of our new school minibus this week.  The bus has been kindly donated to the school by the IHSA.  We would like to thank all parents who have helped with the fund raising over the last five years that enabled the IHSA to be able to purchase this fabulous new vehicle.

GDST Schools Top the League Tables

Our pupils are educated within the GDST framework of consistently high achieving Schools - 12 out of a possible 23 of the GDST schools topped The Times league tables for their local authority area.

The figure would have been even higher, had the IGCSE results been included!
